Dean Spanos has been accused of "misogynistic" behavior, "self- dealing" and repeated "breaches of fiduciary duty" by his sister in a lawsuit that escalates the siblings' ongoing legal battle over control of the team.

Attorneys for Dea Spanos Berberian filed a lawsuit in San Joaquin County Superior Court on Thursday, seeking sole control of a family trust that makes up more than one-third of the team's ownership. The suit asks the court to remove Spanos as a co-trustee and to award financial damages to the other party.

Half of the franchise is owned by the family trust and the other half is owned by non- family members.

The deaths of Alex and FayeSpanos left them as co-trustees.

Dean and Michael are accused of acting out of their misogynistic attitudes and sense of entitlement as the men in the family and of teaching her that a woman has no rights. According to the lawsuit, Dean and Michael believe that regardless of what their parents intended, men are in charge and women should shut up.

The family has no choice but to sell the team in order to satisfy the trust's debt obligations because the decision to move the team to Los Angeles has proved financially ruinous.

DeanSpanos is accused of swindling $105 million from the trust to various debts. For the wasteful purchase of an airplane for Dean's and Michael's use that has no legitimate business justification, the trust was manipulated bySpanos.

Berberian accuses her brothers of trying to undermine her by damaging her relationship with the pastor of her Greek Orthodox church.

Dean and Alex Spanos took over management of the team in 1994. Berberian petitioned the Los Angeles County Superior Court to sell the trust in April 2021.

Adam Streisand represented Jeanie Buss when she wrested control of the Los Angeles Lakers from her brothers and Steve Ballmer when he tried to sell the LA Clippers.

Both Streisand and Berberian didn't reply to the requests for comment.
