A New York Rangers fan has been banned from the Madison Square Garden for life after he punched a fan in the face.
The Rangers fan punched the Lightning fan as they walked through the concourse after the game ended, according to the video. The person who attacked the fan left the area.
The Rangers fan attacked a second person who tried to stop him, according to a Madison Square Garden statement.
As this is a criminal matter, we are cooperating with law enforcement. The attacker will be banned from The Garden and all other Madison Square Garden venues for the rest of their lives. No matter what team they support, guests should feel safe in The Garden. Our policy will always be this.
The 29-year-old Staten Island man was arrested on two counts of assault and disorderly conduct.
The series is tied at 2-2. Game 7 would take place at Madison Square Garden if the Rangers win.
