It's nice to have hot dogs in the summer. Whether it's from the grill, on the boardwalk, or at a ballgame, it's the simplest food and it always works. Hot dogs hit differently in the summer. When the weather is nice, they are supposed to be enjoyed.

This summer, you don't need to fire up the grill to have a good hot dog. The dog can be made in eight minutes. You can make a spicy topping at that time if you want your food to have a bit of heat.

What you need to know about the recipe is listed here.

Ingredients

  • There are as many hot dogs as you want.

  • You can get as many hot dog buns as you want.

  • It's possible to have 1 jalapeo for spicy topping.

  • Half of a white onion.

Directions

  1. In a row, put your hot dogs on the board. Score the hot dogs using a knife. Cut through the dogs. Don't make a long cut.

  2. The dogs need to be flipped over. Score the hot dogs in different directions using a knife.

  3. Prepare the air fryer for eight minutes of cooking. As you wait for the air fryer to cook, toss your buns in the basket.

  4. The buns need to be removed once the air fryer has begun to cook.

  5. The whole jalapeo should be put in the air fryer. Cook for a short time.

  6. The onion should be diced as finely as possible while it's cooking.

  7. Once the hot dogs are done, put each link in a bun.

  8. The jalapeo should be diced to the same size as the onion. Don't keep the seeds if you don't like them. Top the hot dogs with the onion and jalapeo mixture. You can add any other condiments to your liking.

The details

This recipe is very easy to make. Someone needs to mess it up. I don't believe it is possible. Even if you make a mistake cooking a hot dog is still cooking it to your liking. You will almost certainly get a nice, crisp result when you use the air fryer.

There is little to mess up with about ten minutes and a few knife skills. It can seem like scoring the hot dog is pointless. You don't have to do it. When the hot dog is scored, the added surface area gets nice and charred, which is what I like. It's easy to score once you have done it. I got my hot dogs.

It is easy to toss stuff in the air fryer once that process is completed. As you preheat, my favorite way to toast bread is in the air fryer. It's important to do that with the buns. It takes little effort but results in a better product and I've found that the preheat is the perfect length of time for toasting.

There are some hot dogs that are juicy, tasty, and a little spicy.

It's very easy to make, just add a little jalapeo to it. My final product was shown here.

I wonder if this is as good as a grilled dog. I believe so. You can use a gas grill. I like the taste of charcoal but it seems like a lot of work to light a fire for a few hot dogs. While requiring more work, gas grills don't add any flavor and would be as good.

Next time you feel like having a barbecue, I suggest you just air fry your hot dogs.
