For the second year in a row, the Oklahoma Sooners won the national title.

This was never going to be a close fight.

The Longhorns reached the Women's College World Series Championship Finals for the first time in program history while the Sooners were the top ranked team all season.

This is the first time that an unseeded team has advanced.

It was obvious from the start that Oklahoma would win the trophy, but Texas wasn't going to give up and scored two runs in the first.

If it wasn't for Jayda Coleman's leaping catch at the wall, the Sooners would have been down by four in the first.

It was a defensive mistake from Texas that allowed Oklahoma to get on the board first. After Brito doubled, he came around to score on Scott's throwing error, and Snow's single tied the game.

The theme of defensive highlights continued with the help of a double play as Estelle Czech pitched out of the jam.

It wasn't long before the Sooners' bats got going, and they did that in the fifth.

Brito's double and a three-run blast from Kinzie Hansen broke the game open, and starter Jordy Bahl turned the game over to Oklahoma's pitchers for the final three frames.

Last night, Texas coach Mike White called what Oklahoma did to his team something like "an avalanche." It's happening right now. Again.

The relief pitchers didn't have to be lights out with the offense behind them.

Grace Lyons' three-run home run highlighted a four-run sixth as the onslaught continued and Oklahoma secured a title that is among the best in the sport's history.

Just in total awe of Oklahoma softball. Complete domination all season, all the way up through the championship.

The only way this season was going to end was if Oklahoma won the national title.
