The Covid measures were loosened a few days ago as the virus appeared to be under control.

According to state media, seven of the city's 16 districts will conduct mass testing this weekend. Financial and downtown districts were included.

The city said in the comments section of an official release that residents in affected areas will have to stay home until the testing is over.

It was not clear what restrictions would be put in place for the testing. Implementation of Covid restrictions can be different in apartment neighborhoods. If the workers live on-site, the factories can stay open.

Residents in Minhang, one of the seven districts, were told not to go to work on Thursday because of the virus testing on Saturday.

Bars and other entertainment venues in Beijing have been ordered to close. A number of Covid cases were tied to bars and nightclubs after the city reported a new case on Wednesday.

Beijing allowed restaurants to serve customers inside stores on Monday after only allowing delivery for a month. There was an outbreak in the capital city.

A small city locked down last week after a few new Covid cases after 30 new confirmed Covid cases were reported by mainland China.

The Universal Beijing Resort will reopen on June 15 after being closed for a couple of weeks.

Disneyland and Disneytown have been closed for a long time. Retail and park areas reopened Friday.
