On the first pitch of Stephen Strasburg's return from a one-year absence, Jazz Chisholm stole second and the Marlins went on to beat the Nationals 7-4 and complete a three-game sweep.

On the 13th anniversary of Washington selecting him with the first overall pick in the amateur draft, the right-handed pitcher gave up seven runs, eight hits and two walks in 4 1/3 frames.

"I am excited to learn from it and get back out there for the next one," he said. The fastball command could have been better there. The changeup worked well for me. It's a good place to start and build on.

He struck out five and hit a batter while throwing 63 pitches for strikes and averaged 91.9 mph with his fastball.

The Nationals manager said that he didn't throw 93-94mph but his fastball had ooofff at the end of the game. There was not enough time to act. Getting him going will require getting back out there every five days.

He hadn't pitched in a major league game since June 1 last year, recovering from surgery to correct a compression of nerves, arteries and veins near the neck. Three minor league rehabilitation starts were made by him.

Since May 5, 2015, the Marlins have been 0-12). His record against them went from 21 to 8.

The pitcher gave up two runs and six hits in five frames.

Jesusnchez had a home run and a double against Strasburg. Cooper has six hits in a row, including two doubles and one single.
