IIliana was hospitalized with heart issues after visiting her best friend's memorial.

Amerie Jo was one of the people killed in the Uvalde, Texas, school massacre. After visiting her friend's memorial, Iliana told her mother she didn't feel right.

My daughter is going into cardiac arrest. Her mother, Jessica Trevio, told People that she asked what had happened. Her heart rate went up because she couldn't handle it.

When Iliana saw her face on the news, she screamed and cried.

She said she thought her daughter had a broken heart.

She wrote that her heart couldn't take the stress and trauma of the last week.

Amerie was shot and killed when she tried to call for help on her cellphone. She was posthumously awarded the Bronze Cross by the Girl Scouts for saving lives at the risk of her own.

The way she was was the way she had always been. Her grandmother said that she tried to save everyone.

Amerie would defend Iliana from the other students.

She said thaterie made her feel safe at school.

The Methodist Children's Hospital in San Antonio is where Iliana is currently being treated. She was in the intensive care unit. Trevio is showing signs of post-traumatic stress disorder and acute stress as a result of the trauma she experienced.
