Summer Game Fest’s Biggest Announcement? A 'Last of Us' Remake

The first part of The Last of Us will be arriving. This is the second time. Neil Druckmann made the announcement during Summer Game Fest. The game is going to be a complete remake for PS 5.

He is late to the party. Ahead of the reveal, Sony leaked the news.

There are leaks happening in games. There have been two leak lightning strikes for naughty dog. Key information about The Last of Us Part II was leaked in 2020 ahead of the sequel.

The remake was still the most important news of the event, even though the leak was not significant. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Aliens: Dark Descent, and Stormgate are some of the titles that opened Summer Game Fest. Coffee Stain Studio showed off a new Goat Simulator, as well as Neon White, a smaller title. It was somewhat subdued compared to previous years.

The Last of Us isn't even a decade old, so it's time to consider the timing. The game is being made into a movie starring Game of thrones stars Pedro andBella Ramsey. The Last of Us Part II has sold more than 10 million copies. The studio has more plans to expand the franchise with a stand-alone game.

If you missed the original game on PS3 or PS4 you will be able to play a modernized version on September 2. You haven't seen the last of it so it's in development for PC.
