The PFA Players' Player of the Year awards have been won by two players.

After narrowly missing out on a second title, forward Salah beat Kevin De Bruyne to win his second Player of the Year trophy.

The 29-year-old, who finished as the league's joint-top goalscorer, also saw off the likes of CR7 and Kane to win the honour and was also voted part of the 2022. Heung-Min Son didn't make the best XI or the list of nominees.

The 21-year-old Egyptian scored 23 goals in the league and 14 assists in the season that ended in June. The Egypt international narrowly missed out on the title of Africa Cup of Nations with both finals being lost.

The winners of each award are voted on by the members of the PFA. Mark Hughes and Alan Shearer are the only other players in history to have won two Player of the Year awards.

It's a great honor to win a trophy, individual or collective and this one is big so I'm very happy and proud of that.

The one that was voted on by the players was a good one to win. You get what you worked for when you see that. I have a trophy cabinet in my room and I wanted to have another place to keep it. I try to imagine that the trophy will arrive.

When you get older, you feel more stable, and you know what you want from football, so I'm just trying to help the team.

It's because you're more aware of the game that you try to make the people next to you better.

Mark Hughes, Kevin De Bruyne, Fran Kirby, Alan Shearer, and many others. It's now Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian is the ninth player to win the Player of the Year award twice.

There is no doubt that he deserves his place in the group.

The case to claim the major individual prizes was compelling, despite the fact that the title race was too close for comfort.

The Egyptian scored 23 goals and provided 23 assists, sharing the golden boot with Heung- Min Son of Spurs. The 29-year-old was the only one who was close to his 36 goal involvements.

He was in a league of his own.

His expected goals figure was the highest in the division and he had the most shots, shots on target and touches. Harry Kane created more big chances than anyone else. The best dribbles and open- play chances were created by the Egyptian.

He is a deserving winner and a member of a group of players who have won it twice.

Sam Kerr became the first Australian footballer to win the Golden Boot after narrowly missing out on it in 2021.

The forward beat off competition from other players to win the trophy

Kerr became the top scorer in the Women's Super League. She scored two goals, including an extra-time winner, as the Blues beat Manchester City to win the FA Cup for the second year in a row.

The 28-year-old forward scored twice in the final WSL game of the season against Manchester United, helping the Blues win their third consecutive league title.

Harry Kewell won the Young Player of the Year award in 2000 and Kerr is the first Australian woman to win an award from the Professional Footballers' Association. The PFA WSL team of the year was made up of Kerr and other players.

It's a huge honor when your peers vote for you. I think that's the highest honor a player can receive.

Kerr said that she does a lot as a player, sometimes it comes off and sometimes it doesn't, but she thinks you have to see yourself in those moments.

I have a lot of faith in myself. In the 90th minute the team will give me the ball and I will be relied on. I know that my team trusts me. I enjoy the big moments as a footballer.

Charlotte Marsh is a sports reporter for Sky Sports.

Another trophy for Sam Kerr to find a place for, she already has a WSL title, FA Cup trophy, WSL Golden Boot and FWA Women's Footballer of the Year award to name a few.

She's deserving of them as well. In a season where Fran Kirby, Pernille Harder and Bethany England were in and out of the squad through injury and illness, Kerr has been an ever-present.

She scored the most WSL goals, had the highest number of big chances, and was second in shots and targets.

All of her goals came from open play, which makes her goal haul all the more impressive.

Her last four goals of the season show her class and her ability to perform. The two goals Kerr scored against Manchester United in the final game of the season were two of the best goals of the season.

After scoring an extra-time winner against Man City, she once again proved to be indispensable to the Blues. Kerr won both the trophy for the team and the trophy for individual players.

Her years in the WSL have not seen her lose her laid back Australian demeanor in interviews. One of the best strikers in women's football can be found below the surface.

A player of class both on and off the field.

Roy and Hope Powell were honoured with the merit award for their outstanding contributions to the game.

He announced his retirement last month. He said that it was an honor to receive the award and that he was grateful. I never won a trophy as a player, so it's nice to be recognised by my peers. It will be proud of it's location.

When you've had a long career and have some success, you have to be grateful and humble. I have had that fortune that everyone needs, because there are so many steps along the way. I have always tried to do the job with passion and enthusiasm and those two qualities are very important for any football player, manager or coach.

It is wonderful to get a trophy which proves that people believe I have given something back and I will treasure this trophy.

Powell said he feels lucky and grateful to be in the game after many years.

One of the nice things about being involved in the game is the vast experience I have had over the years, whether as a player or a manager. I feel very fortunate to be in this position and each section has been very enjoyable.

I've never been afraid to ask questions and challenge people, I think I have helped shaped the game and drive it forward. I want to be remembered as someone who was passionate and wanted the best for women's football on a local and national level.
