Brady was adamant that he didn't have a problem with the man who retired after Brady announced he was coming back.
He didn't deny reports that he spoke with the Miami Dolphins about joining their organization in some capacity, but he said he wouldn't pressure Rob to come back.
Brady said that he didn't have anything to say about the man. We have a good relationship. Bruce was one of the reasons I chose this place. I have a lot of respect for him. The most important thing is that he knows how he feels about me. I'm aware of how he feels about me.
Brady said he had a lot of conversations with the Dolphins, who were interested in getting him in a front-office capacity and as a quarterback. When I'm done playing football, I made a decision about what I want to do, and I'll get to be in the game of football.
The most important thing for me is where I am now and what I want to do for this team. I've been committed to this team and the organization for a long time. Two years ago, I came here and it has been great. It has been an amazing part of my football journey. It isn't over.
Brady didn't give a clue as to which way Gropu is leaning.
"I think it's up to him and we'd all love to play with him, but he has to make the best decision for himself," Brady said. We don't have training camp for about six weeks so whatever he does to figure it out, anyone who cares about him knows that. If he doesn't, we still need to figure out what to do.
Brady talked about his decision to retire and unretire in an interview. Since becoming a husband and father to three children, his priorities have changed and he admits he needs to improve in those areas.
Brady said it was easy to know what you wanted to do next year. It's difficult when you're 43 or 44 because there are other things that are important in your life, like your kids and your wife, things that have always taken a back seat to football. I think it's been that way for me. I need to work on those things.
Everybody knows that football is 100 percent when the season begins. It is a big commitment to be the way you have to be. You have to train hard to play every game. It's a big commitment to train at 44 years old. They have challenges that they have to contend with in trying to make those decisions. It isn't like it was when I was 25, but we don't feel that way anymore.
There are parts of my life where I am happy and there are other parts where I wish I was 25.
Will it define him or could he be happy and whole away from football?
I fell in love with this sport when I was a kid and I still love it today. Brady said that he would always will. I'm going to stay in football. That's going to be enjoyable. I think there's a lot of things about me not ending up, having a normal off-season, that I look forward to whenever that happens. I have to figure out what it will look like. The transition should be a smooth one.
They lost to the Rams in the playoffs. Some teammates believed that Brady wouldn't be able to stay away because of the loss, while others thought it was the end.
I was aware of it. Leonard Fournette told Tom that they couldn't go out like that. He was in agreement with me. We made a lot of mistakes on the field. We were trying to catch up to the other team. I knew he wouldn't want to end his career like that.
"I went up here after I was down here," Evans said. I didn't think he would return. He has done everything and made a lot of money. He is still interested in playing. He loves the game and he wants to win. He said he has a sour taste in his mouth as well. We've got him back for at least a year.
Brady did a lot of things. After he retires for real, he agreed to a reported $375 million television deal with Fox Sports to become an analyst. He remained in top shape.
Brady said that they have a lot to accomplish. "I've got a long life ahead and there's a lot of fun things to do ahead, I'm looking forward to what's ahead in football, but at the same time, no one is promised much beyond what we have now." I'm really excited about going out there and trying to win a title.
