If the FDA and CDC approve vaccinations for children under the age of 5 by June 20, the White House will be ready to start.

It expects millions more to be made available in the weeks to come.

Small needles for younger children will be included in the doses.

The White House claims that 85% of children under the age of five will be able to access a vaccine site within 5 miles of their homes.

The administration will make the shots accessible to communities that are hard hit.

18% According to a poll conducted in April by the Kaiser Family Foundation, a majority of parents want their child to bevaccinated before they are 5 years old. 42% of parents want to wait a while to see how the vaccine works for other people 27% of parents don't plan on getting their kids vaccinations, while 11% only plan to do so if it's required.

Moderna and Pfizer have applied for emergency use authorization for their vaccines. Moderna said two doses of its vaccine produced a robust neutralizing antibody response in kids between six months and six years old. Pfizer said last month that a three-dose regimen of its vaccine produced a strong immune response in young children. The fast-spreading nature of the coronaviruses led to a four-fold increase in hospitalizations of children. The children who were hospitalized were unvaccinated.

The White House says that children under the age of 5 will get covid vaccines in late June.
