Kupp credits Stafford for his breakout season (1:25)

One of the main reasons for the Rams' success was seeing the game the same as Matthew Stafford. The time is 1:45.

Liam Coen gestured into the training facility after the Los Angeles Rams finished their second day of mini camp.

He was asked how quarterback Matthew Stafford and wide receiver Cooper Kupp were working together, since Stafford is still recovering from an elbow injury.

"After practice watching film together, they are in there before meetings, and I think that chemistry goes a long way," Coen said.

You can see it on the field. It has always been possible for Cooper to do that. That's what he's had. He can see the game through a quarterback's lens, but now that Matthew is giving it to him through his lens, it's just taken off. It's great to watch.

There is free agency.

While wearing a Stafford jersey, Kupp signed a three-year contract extension with the Rams. He joined Stafford and Donald in signing a new deal. The Rams have a chance to build on their Super Bowl season for years to come if they extend Kupp.

Kupp finished the regular season with over 1,700 yards and 16 scores. He became the fourth player since the 1970 merger to achieve the triple crown, and he was the leader in all three categories. In the Super Bowl, Kupp was named the Most Valuable Player.

Hours before Kupp signed his contract extension, Stafford was asked how he and Kupp could possibly improve.

Stafford said that it was an unbelievable year. You can't just sit there and say, "Well, the only thing to do now is go for 2,500 yards and throw for 7,000." It's not realistic. You attempt to find ways to improve that are not going to be noticed by anyone. It's like, "Cooper, where can we find a way to be better that only us two, or guys in our group, know that we are getting better?"

His understanding of what we're trying to do on every single play is second to none and I just want to continue to collaborate with him.

It's clear that the front office's vision for the foreseeable future is dependent on the pair. The Rams are trying to become the first team in a decade to repeat as Super Bowl champion.

The Rams reworked Donald's contract and extended Stafford and Kupp's contracts. It was expensive, also. The fifth most guaranteed quarterback is Stafford. Donald gets $31.7 million per year, which is the most. The most guaranteed wide receiver is Kupp.

On Tuesday, Kupp reiterated that he wasn't looking to reset the wide receiver market, but get a contract that's great for the team and something that's great for him and his family.

The Rams secured the core they hope to find in Arizona in February when they did just that.
