Dave Clark will take over as CEO of Flexport on September 1, 2022.
On Friday, Clark resigned from his position at Amazon. After July 1, he will join Flexport as co-CEO with Ryan Petersen. The current CEO said that the founder of the startup will become an executive chairman six months after Clark arrives.
Flexport hopes to move from a buzzy startup to a major player in logistics on scale with other legacy companies with Clark's new role. There is as much as suggested by Petersen.
Clark was the CEO of Worldwide Consumer during his 23 years at Amazon. He and his team built a lot of their legendary fulfillment, Logistics and transportation network. Flexport is poised to become one of the most important technology platforms for supply chain and logistics. Flexport doesn't need another executive given the size of the opportunity We need someone else to start a business.
