Meta is hit with another executive change after the recent departures of COO and head of artificial intelligence.

According to an internal memo obtained by The Verge, the company's top engineering leader is stepping down. The VP of engineering will take over the role later this month. Jon Carvill is a spokesman for Meta.

The company survived the biggest capacity crunch in the company's history according to the memo.

According to the company's website, the teams responsible for developing and operating the hardware, network, software and data centers that all Meta services run on are overseen by Mortenson. The top job at Meta was taken by him about two years ago. He is leaving his job but not leaving Meta. He will take a long break and will come back with a plan for the future.
