Many of us are taking the time to explore the great outdoors as the summer season begins. If you have an adventure on the horizon, here are two ways you can use the internet to stay safe.

Check the air quality before you head out

It can be helpful to know the air quality when visiting a new place or planning an outdoor activity. You can use the air quality layer on the maps to make moreinformed decisions about whether it is safe to go on a hike. When the information was last updated, you will see the Air Quality Index, a measure of how healthy the air is, along with guidance for outdoor activities.

The Environmental Protection Agency's air quality data is shown in the air quality layer. If you want to add the air quality layer to your map, you need to tap on the button in the top right corner of your screen.

You can see air quality information on the air quality displays on the nest. More people in the U.S. will be able to access vital air quality information thanks to the broad coverage of the Purple Air sensors.
