It is possible that Musk will get more information about the social media platform. According to a report from the Washington Post, the presumptive buyer of the company will get a complete stream of data on the service.

In an apparent attempt to back out of the deal, the CEO of both companies threw an extended temper tantrum. The issue of automated bot accounts has been used as a possible way out of the deal by the billionaire mogul.

Musk needed more transparency around "spam and fake accounts" on the service before he could move forward with the deal. Since it requires use of private company data, the CEO doesn't think that the calculation can be verified outside of the company.

Apparently, Musk will get access to the data, which was initially not available to him. The information contained in the "firehose" is related to the account.

If Musk can prove that he was deceived about the true value of the company, he can go ahead with the purchase. That could be a route out of the deal if it turns out that it is more bot-dense than previously thought. It's hard to imagine that we wouldn't have caught wind of them if there were any major discrepancies, as the Post reported that at least two dozen companies already pay for access to this sought-after data, and if there were any major discrepancies, it's hard to imagine

According to a study published this morning, at least 10% of users on the micro-blogging site could be bots. It's not clear if their data came from the "firehose" or publicly accessible data, but the study analyzed about 4% of the total. GlobalData chose these accounts by collecting data from the micro-blogging site once a day for 22 hours. The data could be interpreted in a variety of ways.

Data scientist Sidharth Kumar said that some people may choose to see non-original content as a very active user sharing articles. An account that only retweets news articles might be flagged as a bot, but in practice, it could be a real user who just doesn't post original content.

In the years since filing to go public, it has been claimed that only a small percentage of accounts are actually fake.
