Armed man who sought to kill Brett Kavanaugh arrested near Supreme Court justice’s home

Law enforcement authorities said a man with a gun, knife, and pepper spray was arrested near the home of a Supreme Court justice.

According to authorities, the man told police that he was going to kill the man in Chevy Chase.

The man is from another state. He arrived at the house in a cab. He was stopped but not at the house.

The Supreme Court said in a statement that a man was arrested at 1:45 a.m. The man was making threats against the judge.

The Supreme Court said he was taken to Montgomery County Police 2nd District.

The Montgomery County Police Department did not reply immediately. The U.S. marshals service is looking into the arrest.

The home of a Supreme Court justice was the site of protests last month after a majority draft opinion on abortion was leaked. Justice Alito is a conservative.

The Supreme Court has not yet made a decision on the Mississippi law.

Since the leak of the draft, all the justices' homes have had their security increased.

The justices' homes are being provided with around-the-clock security by the marshals service, according to the department of justice.
