One of the biggest blows yet to the PGA Tour by the cash-rich upstart golf league is planned by two American golfers.

The Telegraph is reporting that an announcement on DeChambeau and Reed is imminent.

The league will have its first tournament in the US later this month, according to a source.

The world No. 28 and 36, DeChambeau and Reed, would instantly become the most highly regarded young talent in LIV Golf, as the 28-year-old DeChambeau and 31-year-old Reed both have PGA Tour major wins under their belt.

LIV Golf and DeChambeau's and Reed's agencies didn't reply to Forbes' request for comment.

How much was offered to DeChambeau and Reed in order to join the golf club? According to the Telegraph, the golfer was paid more than 100 million dollars to join the league. Greg Norman told the Washington Post that Tiger Woods turned down an offer that was "mind-blowingly enormous." A source told the Golf Channel that Phil Mickelson, who made controversial comments in February defending the league's Saudi backing despite the government's history of human rights abuses, signed a $200 million deal.

This week, Kevin Na, Johnson, and others resigned from thePGA Tour to join LIV Golf. In February, DeChambeau said he would stay on the tour as long as the best players in the world played. Reed was accused of breaking the rules during his win at the Farmers Insurance Open due to DeChambeau's antics on the course.

Dechambeau spoke in favor of the PGA Tour as recently as last week, telling reporters: "For me, I don't think that at this point in time I can risk things like that."
