The consumer tech startup led by Carl Pei will announce its first phone at an event on July 12th. The Ear 1 true wireless earbuds were the company's first device. There will be an in-person event and a simultaneous live stream in London. The launch is not being branded as Nothing.

Several aspects of the phone have been announced. At an event in March, the company showed off its Nothing OS launcher, which will run on top of the latest version of the OS. The launcher was released in the early stages of development. The phone will have transparent elements in its design, will have light strips on the back of the device, and will be powered by a processor.

Nothing wants to build out an ecosystems of connected smart devices. It will work with third-party companies to make some of the connected devices.
