If Jack Grealish is to become a regular starter for England, he needs to improve his tactical know-how.

England had their first Nations League point of the campaign when Harry Kane scored his 50th international goal. With 20 minutes to go, Grealish's influence down the left flank helped England force their late draw.

In his last 11 caps for England, only three of them have seen Grealish play from the start and three of them have seen him come on as a substitute.

Harry Kane said it was great to reach his 50 goals for England in a big game after his late penalty levelled the game against Germany.

The challenge for the wide players was to attack, defend and to try and score goals, and that's something Jack can get better at. As the game opened up with more space, he carried the ball. Both of them had an impact in those areas. There is a good challenge for those players.

After Saturday's defeat in Hungary, England were staring at successive Nations League defeats when Germany scored three minutes into the second half. Kane's goal capped a strong final quarter of the game from the men in blue.

The level of performance was good. This type of fixture requires technical, tactical, physical, psychological and players to give their all. The quality of our passing was not up to par in the first half. We were passive in the second half but the response was great. We deserved something from the game due to the quality of our play. The players showed that mentality not to give in and to push on.

When you are in a team, it's important to have seven or eight players who are still in the World Cup semi-finals. You have to do that to get a result as they put their bodies on the line.

The quality of the game tests every part of the player in these matches as they are about improving and learning as a team. It was a challenge for the players to come away from home and get a good result. Top teams don't lose two games in a row, they respond in the right way.

As the clock wound down, Kane calmly converted the penalty.

He has 50 goals for England, just three behind Wayne Rooney for England's all-time scoring record.

Kane said it was really nice to score. The first one was over the bar and the second one was saved by Neuer. We played our best football in the last 30 minutes. It was good to get the goal, but it would have been better to score at the end.

I love scoring goals for my country. I enjoy helping the team whenever I can.

We showed good character to get back into the game and get a result after being a goal down. Germany is a very good team. The World Cup won't be here before we know it.

Kane's 50 goals will be the main part of the story, but his all round game and the way he led the line was exceptional. He gives us so many options when we have runners past him, because of his quality to drop deep. It's an important part of the game and there are times when he comes and takes the ball to relieve the pressure.
