The Celtics are hoping that the refs will be more consistent for the rest of the series against the Warriors.

Draymond Green was ejected from the game after an altercation with Jaylen Brown, but he was not given a second technical foul.

Grant Williams told Chris Haynes that he hopes the officials will be as graceful as possible if he or any of his teammates get a second technical foul.

A tech is a tech no matter what. Williams wants to see consistency as a player. The refs decided not to give Dray a second tech and we moved on. We didn't say anything about it. We hope that grace is given to everyone.

Williams said something.

“If the refs are taking into consideration that a player — a key player — already has a technical and then they decide for whatever reason that a similar incident doesn’t warrant a second technical, that’s fine as long as there is consistency. The problem is there is no consistency. As players, we just want to know how the game is going to be officiated and then we’ll adjust. I personally believe you have to understand the magnitude of the game and how an ejection can impact the game. No one wants to see the game impacted by an ejection. But either all techs are the same or you consider the situation when [contemplating] a second tech. We just want the rules to be enforced straight forward and consistently.”

Green was unstoppable in the first game of the series.

He forced Al Horford into a jump ball on the first possession. He got into an altercation with Jaylen Brown after baiting Williams into a foul.

Green was considered for a second technical foul for his altercation with Brown, but he didn't get one.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr appreciated how Green went above and beyond to match Boston's intensity.

Kerr told reporters to allow him to be him. He's at his best when he's angry. He played well the other night. The officials were alone all night after he got the tech.

In the playoffs, the play will always be physical. Being physically part of it is something. Draymond did a great job of leaving the officials alone.

The Celtics and Warriors will be exchanging jabs in this series. It's hard to imagine a player getting ejected for something like what happened with Green on Sunday.

Marcus Smart said that the Celtics plan to fight "fire with fire" so neither of the teams will let up in fear of being thrown out.

The Celtics and Warriors are playing a game on Wednesday. There is a live event at the Boston Garden.
