Harry Kane
Harry Kane is just the second player to reach 50 England goals after Wayne Rooney (53)

Kane became the second man to score 50 goals for England when he converted his late penalty.

Kane sent Neuer the wrong way from the spot after a VAR review ruled that he had been brought down.

It was a goal that gave England their first point in the tournament after defeat in Hungary on Saturday and moved Kane into second place in the all-time record.

England looked to be going down to their second defeat but came to life late on in the game and will look to build on this result when they face Italy at Wolves on Saturday.

England can take heart from draw

England looked like a team suffering from a long season and faced an uphill task when Germany took the lead.

The introduction of Jack Grealish for Mason Mount with 18 minutes left gave England more positive attacking intent and there was also a fine substitute from West Ham United in the last ten minutes.

Germany looked like they were going to add to their goal more than England did. After the changes, Hansi Flick's side were much more progressive, with goalkeeper Jordan Pickford saving from Thomas Muller and other players.

When KalvinPhillips went off injured, the 4-2-3-1 formation was disrupted, but this gave another chance to Jude Bellingham to show his class, even though he wasn't playing.

Kane thought he had his 50th goal when Neuer turned his attempt away from Grealish's cross, but he was only denied by a desperate block.

The soft concession of Hofmann's goal won't satisfy the man. Germany was given far too much space to score and Pickford was not able to stop him.

Kane's late leveller will make a big difference to England's spirits, as a second successive loss would have been dispiriting for a side suffering a physical and mental toll after such a long season.

There's more to come.
