A year after putting himself in a "f---ed-up'' situation with the Carolina Panthers, CamNewton still believes he is one of the 32 best quarterbacks in the NFL.

On Thursday, I signed my contract. I played on Sunday, I said on the show hosted by Ryan Clark. What time did you think you would be successful? I began the next week. That's less than a week since you joined the team. You still don't know the offense.

"So before I sit up here and allow the narrative to be made that Cam ain't got it no more, Cam is taking full responsibility and saying Cam put himself in a f---ed-up situation, which then had a cascading effect on people's perception of me."

He's a free agent. He spent the last eight games with the Carolinas after being signed in November when starter Sam Darnold was placed on injured reserve.

Four days later, in a backup role, he scored on his first two plays, a 2-yard run and a 2-yard pass, to help the Carolinas beat the Arizona.

He went 0-5 with three touchdown passes and five turnovers. He had four touchdown runs.

The panthers did not re-sign him after the season, but kept the door open for a possible return to compete with the others.

The first pick in the draft believes he can help any team. He said that there were 32 guys better than him.

You're a fool if you think I can't be on a team.

A team with a good supporting cast and time to learn the system is what the 33 year old version of him requires.

"If you're asking to run the show without your cast, then you're going to be left alone,'' he said.

He didn't get a chance to fully learn the offense in New England in 2020 because he signed in June of that year.

The New England experience was bad, according toNewton. He said he was still learning the offense.

He had only eight touchdown passes, but 10 interceptions, and finished with a 7-8 record. At the end of training camp, New England decided to go with Mac Jones and he was released.

The 2020 season was just brain overload, according toNewton. There were times when I was going to the line. I don't know if I knew it. I agree. I need to know it to show the world that I'm still alive. It is not possible to say yes.

I put myself in that position.

When he first joined the league,Newton likened himself to Superman, but he doesn't do that now.

He said he would be damned if the world called him Superman because he had so many children.

When he appeared on the "Million Dollaz Worth of Game'' show in April, he explained that he didn't mean to hurt women.

Women who can't cook and don't know when to be quiet are some of the topics discussed byNewton.

A woman knows how to cater to a man's needs. Yeah, right? In April, he said. When you get that aesthetic of being a boss, I think a lot of the time.

Baby, no! You are unable to cook. It's not clear when to be quiet. You can't let a man lead.

His mother and grandmother were strong in addition to his strong father.

As a strong man, you have to listen to your partner. I didn't say that then. As strong men, we need to appreciate the strength in our lives.

When the Carolinas cut him the first time, he said he was prepared to step away from football.

Matt Rhule was hired to be the new coach.

In almost the same breath, he continued the narrative that he's still one of the 32 best quarterbacks in the NFL and he still wants to prove himself. He said that any team that gets him will have to deal with his larger than life personality.

It's going to be a slogan to itself once you get a CamNewton in your organization. It's time to put cam in. It's time to put cam in. The man said, "Newton said." You can't find a coach, you can't find a player, and you can't find a person in the office who will say that Cam was a cancer.

I don't know if I should apologize for my impact being as large as it is. It's absolutely not.
