A single charging solution for certain electronic devices has been announced by EU officials. It will be compulsory for device makers to use theusb-c in their devices by autumn of twenty four.
Reducing the estimated 11,000 tons of e-waste is the result of the decision. The EU shows how easy it will be for consumers to charge their devices. The devices affected by the new policy include mobile phones, tablets, e-readers, earbuds, digital cameras, headphones and headsets.

There won't be much change in the way the best phones connect to the internet. The policy will mostly affect Apple, which has used the proprietary Lightning Connector since it's inception.
Apple was not immediately available to respond to the request for comment, but the company has previously stated that a change to the charging port would cause innovation to be stifled.
