The future of how America works is going to be profoundly impacted by robotic armies. Across an ever growing swath that includes agtech, automotive, construction, labor, logistics, healthcare and more.

The displacement effect is a phenomenon that results in lower wages and employment when technological advancement leads to automation. The impact is significant according to the MIT study.

Is the US ready for the impact? We have the right person to answer the question. Marty Walsh, the U.S. Secretary of Labor, will join us online at the conference.

Amazon has a fleet of more than half a million mobile robot. Thanks to the labor shortage, investors have been pouring money into robotic and automation companies. What happens to workers who have been displaced by automation?

Walsh will be asked that question and many more during the presentation, The Changing Face of Work. The Labor Secretary will talk about what employers and regulators need to do to prepare for these changes.

Secretary Walsh has a strong connection to working people and is committed to creating an economy that works for all.

Prior to his appointment, Walsh was the mayor of Boston, where he led the creation of close to 140,000 jobs and helped secure a statewide minimum wage, paid sick leave and parental leave. Free community college for low-income students was established by him.

Walsh worked with business and community leaders to promote high-quality development. The model for increasing diversity in the workplace and providing good career opportunities for women and people of color was created by the man.

Walsh was a state representative for one of the most diverse districts in the state. He focused on creating good jobs, protecting workers' rights, and investing in public transportation.
