Kara Swisher, the prominent tech reporter, commentator and Recode co-founder, is leaving her role at the New York Times to go back to her previous job as a writer at Vox Media.

Swisher has co-hosted a business and technology program with a New York University professor called "Pivot" for the past four years. The new show is scheduled to launch in the fall and will be introduced at the upcoming event.

Swisher wants to own intellectual property and share in the benefits of building a business with a partner. She moved because of her interest in trying new formats and creating new things.

Swisher said in an interview that he has made a lot of things for people. I would like to do what I want to do. I would like to make whatever I want to make.

Swisher has a relationship with the company for a long time. She and her business partner sold their technology website to a media company. The brand's various podcasts, including her show "Recode Decode," were acquired by the company.

Swisher joined the Times as a podcastser in 2020 and later hosted a show called "Decoder." Nilay Patel is now the host of the show. Swisher still hosts "Pivot" in addition to her Times work despite becoming a Times opinion contributor.

Swisher was the most entrepreneurial of all the people she worked with at The Times.

She believes that every media company should be thinking about talent.

Swisher said she wants to share in the success of new businesses and hopes to use the three-year agreement to highlight different voices.

She said that her new show would be similar to "Pivot" Swisher said she wants to build on the show's strong community and that it now has million of monthly listens.

Jordan Cohen said that the Times is proud of its work with Swisher. The final episode of Swisher's interview show "Sway" will be released in July.
