Manchester City's Oleksandr Zinchenko wraps a Ukraine flag around the Premier League trophy
Clubs across the Premier League have shown support for Ukraine

At this week's annual general meeting, the league will discuss the future of its Match TV contract.

At the end of the season, the contract expired, with one for the 2022-23 campaign to start in August.

The gambling industry's association with the premier league is going to be discussed.

According to sources, half of the league's 20 clubs had betting firms on their shirts last season and a proposal to ban clubs from having betting sponsors was included in a draft white paper.

Self-regulation was the preferred way to go according to the premier league. ManBetX will no longer be the Wolves' main shirt sponsor next season.

Russian broadcast deal up for discussion

The conflict in Ukraine has made it difficult for the clubs to make a decision on their Russian broadcast deal.

Match TV is owned by the Russians.

It is more valuable if the contract is for more than three years.

If the contractual position allows, it would be easier to scrap the deal altogether.

Busy fixture schedule before World Cup

A mid-week round of matches that clash with the 1 September transfer deadline is likely to be included in the new premier league fixture.

The season will be paused after Round 16 because of the World Cup, which will take place over two days in November.

There are only 14 weekend slots left before the tournament due to the opening round of games taking place on 6 August and an international break at the end of September.

There is one mid-week slot available in October where a round of games will be played with all six European group-stage matches taking place before the World Cup and the EFL Cup third round.

There are four mid-week slots in August, but the first three are being used for Uefa club competition.

The final one will be used by the league in order to schedule matches across three days for TV.
