  • A Uvalde teacher said active shooter training made children look like ducks.

  • The father told Good Morning America that his children hid under a table.

  • Fourteen people, including 11 of his students, were killed by the shooter.

The teacher who was wounded in the Uvalde mass shooting said that active shooting training set the children up for the shooter.

It all happened too quickly. Training, no training, all kinds of training, nothing gets you ready for this, according to an interview that aired on Tuesday.

Nineteen children and two adults were massacred at Robb Elementary School when a man burst into the school and opened fire.

The students heard gunshots as they watched a movie after the end-of-year party. The children were told to hide under the table and lie down. The teacher and all of his students were killed when the shooter burst into the room.

I thought our kids were trained to sit under the table. "We set them up to be like ducks." Laws have to change in order to give us all the training you want.

He apologized to the families of his students, saying he tried his best.

There is no excuse for the actions of the police that day, according to the man.

Texas officials have been criticized for the way the shooting unfolded and how they have handled the aftermath.

Within minutes of the school shooting, police officers were at the scene, but they took over an hour to confront the shooter. The school police chief was blamed by Texas law enforcement for not sending in officers because he thought kids weren't in danger anymore.
