Two-time major championDustin Johnson has resigned his membership of the PGA Tour in order to play in a golf tournament in Saudi Arabia.

In his career, Johnson has won 74 million dollars.

He said that he doesn't want to play for the rest of his life and that he wants to do what he wants to do.

The 2020 Masters champion is giving up his chance to play in the Ryder Cup in order to quit thePGA Tour.

He won all five of his matches in last year's record 19-9 victory against Europe in the biennial competition.

He said the Ryder Cup meant a lot to him, but he decided it was best for him and his family to not compete.

At some point it will change and I will get a chance to do that again.

If someone wants to play for the US in the Ryder Cup, they will need to be a member of thePGA of America.

The 2016 US Open champion, who said in February that he was committed to the PGA Tour, has since changed his mind.

The world number simply said that it was best for him and his family. I quit my membership on the tour.

I cannot comment on how the Tour will handle it. Hopefully, they're going to allow us to play.

I am exempt for the majors so I plan on playing there.

Two years ago, Johnson won the Masters and was given a lifetime exemption to play in the tournament. He qualified for the national championship for 10 years after winning the US Open. He gets a five-year exemption for The Open and USPGA Championship after winning the Masters.

They are all at the same place this week.

The winner of this first event will get $4m in prize money, which is the most on British soil.

Every leg of the series will have the same $25 million prize fund, which is more than the richest tournament on the PGA Tour.

There will be a team and individual competition with captains selecting three players in a draft-style format. The teams of four will play each other at the same time on different holes in what is called a'shotgun start'.

Each event's individual winner will take home $4m - by way of comparison, the PGA Tour's flagship event, the Players Championship, earned Cameron Smith $3.6m for his victory in March.

The eighth and final event, at Trump National Doral in Miami in October, will feature a $50 million knockout tournament. Each of the four players on the winning team will get 25% of the prize money.
