Lefty was persona non grata on the tour. He hasn't competed since the Farmers Insurance Open in January and some are wondering if he will ever return to the tour.

The PGA Tour issued a statement about the tournament.

The Saudi Golf League's London event has not been authorized to be participated in by members of thePGA Tour. The members who violate the tournament regulations will be disciplined.

It's not clear if signing with LIV Golf will affect his eligibility for the major tournaments.

The U.S. Open will take place in June of 2022. If he plays, it will be the first test of how well the tour can fight off the threat.
