There are some major changes in the new version of the software. We wanted to give MacRumors readers a first look at the new Lock screen, so we did a quick hands-on video to show them.

For the first time, the Lock Screen can be configured with different colors and types. If you want to get to all of the various customization options, you need to unlocked the phone.

A lot of the photos that you set on the Lock Screen are displayed in front of the time, or you can have your Lock Screen shuffle between multiple photos. You can apply photo styles to Lock Screen images, choose a custom date and time, and change the color and fonts.

You can set up multiple Lock Screens, swap between them, and assign them to different focus modes with the help of a swiping.

The lock screen now supportswidgets You can addwidgets that display information such as the weather, time, date, battery level, calendar events, alarms, time zones, Activity ring progress, and more, with Apple making awidgetAPI available for developers.

Live Activities helps you keep track of things that are happening in real time, and there's a Lock Screen gallery that lets you quickly and easily change the look of your phone.

Notifications were also changed with the Lock Screen change. Incoming notifications are now shown at the bottom of the display, keeping your Lock Screen clear.
