Thankfully, these surprising little space barnacles are just lights captured at the right time, not being watched by aliens. It's probably a possibility.
It's worth pointing out that an alien run-in at the International Space Station would be bad timing. Due in large part to the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine, as well as China's recent attempts to sabotage its own space station, the space travel community hasn't been drama-free lately.
Relations between astronauts aboard the US- and Russia controlled space station have remained peaceful despite some awkward movie nights and false marooning rumors. The tension on the ground makes it encouraging. A great photo by a space traveler would make us all laugh and wonder.
