Elizabeth will not testify in the trial of her ex-boyfriend.

The trial of the man who was Theranos' COO and the man who was its right-hand man has been going on for more than six months. The same charges were brought against her in her own trial. She was found guilty of wire fraud and conspiracy in January.

Since Balwani's trial began, legal experts and curious onlookers alike have wondered if she would testify against Balwani in exchange for a lighter sentence, although it's not known if she was offered that opportunity.

They got their answer today when the prosecution confirmed in an evidentiary hearing that they wouldn't call him as a witness in Balwani's trial.

"Prosecutor Robert Leach just mentioned that ElizabethHolmes won't be testifying in this case," she wrote.

In September, he's going to be sentenced. She faces up to 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and the requirement to pay victims compensation for each count she was found guilty of.

During the trial, there was new information about the romantic relationship between the two men. Both loving and tense messages were shown in the texts. In her trial, she testified that Balwani abused and sexually assault her. Attorneys for Balwani denied the allegations.
