When it is all said and done, James Harden will likely lead the NBA in scoring. But we are in Week One of the 2019-209 season, and going into Saturday night's huge slate of games the league leaders are Kyrie Irving of Brooklyn and Trae Young of Atlanta at 38.0 ppg.

Harden? He is tied for 47th.

When sample sizes are small, statistical oddities abound. Take rebounding, where Andre Drummond is a lock to finish first overall but currently sits second behind Kevin Love, who is averaging 18.0 to Drummond's 17.5. Third in the league is Russell Westbrook of the Rockets at 16.0.

But back to Harden. He lays an egg every one in a while in the shooting department, but check out his assists: He leads the league with an average of 14.0, while Westbrook is sitting tied for 13th at 8.0

Fantasy players are gobbling this information up, because when they learn something like the fact that Joel Embiid is out tonight vs. the Pistons, and Ricky Rubio is out for the Suns.

There is a rush to figure out who will benefit (Drummond, and possibly Al Horford), and whether it may be best to stay away from either of those players and go with someone such as Frank Kaminsky, who is a huge fantasy component now that DeAndre Ayton has been suspended for 25 games.

Fantasy sports generated $338 million in revenue in a year, according to LegalSportsReport.com. Those numbers come from data obtained by Legal Sports Report from the New York State Gaming Commission, which details DFS performance beyond just New York.

DFS sites that are registered must report their total handle (entry fees) and revenue - for all locations - to the state of New York on a monthly basis. Since nearly every site in existence is registered in New York, this is a pretty good comp for all DFS action everywhere. Almost all of the entry fees and revenue are generated by market leaders Draft Kings and FanDuel.

The league leader in 3s made per game? That would be a tie between Young of the Hawks and Devonte' Graham of Charlotte at 6.0.

Just a few tidbits of relative/ interesting NBA info as all hoopheads get ready for a Saturday night of not watching college football.
