A new feature in watchOS 9 will allow people with irregular heart rhythms to track the amount of time they spend in the hospital.

The Apple watch has a heart rhythm monitor that runs in the background to flag any irregular heartbeats. Users will get a weekly alert about how much time they spend in the arrhythmia. They can use the Health app to see a breakdown of how sleep and exercise might affect the heart rhythm. Users will be able to show their doctors their history of the disease.

My Healthy Apple reported that the company got clearance from the FDA for an "Atrial Fibrillation History feature".
