According to Deadline, Neve Campbell won't be returning for the sixth movie in the series. Campbell has played the role of Sidney Prescott in every Scream film since 1996.
Campbell stated that she had to work hard in her career to establish her value. The offer that was presented to me was not in line with what I have brought to the franchise.
When Scream 6 was officially announced earlier this year, it was expected that Campbell would reprise his role as Sidney. It is clear from her statement that there was a gap when it came to the offer from Paramount. It makes sense for Campbell to be paid what she is worth since she has been very busy since the start of her film career.
Campbell is currently starring in the procedural courtroom drama, The Lincoln Lawyer, and has also been cast in the television adaptation of the video game, Twisted Metal. The cast list for Twisted Metal is one of the most absurd and extensive in the history of the film.
