Republicans are desperate to come up with another solution. Oliver played clips of conservatives saying things like "ballistic blankets" in school.
You're talking about something. "Do you want to know?" Oliver asked. It's not a strategy to stop deaths during a school shooting. It isn't a strategy for a bird to get in the house.
Even though there are few instances of cops stopping would-be mass shooters, one of the most common talking points is to put more police in schools. In many instances, those same officers end up hurting the children they are supposed to protect.
