Tim Tebow, Alex Smith, Ryan Leaf highlight first-time candidates on College Football Hall of Fame ballot

There are three first-time candidates on the College Football Hall of Fame ballot.

There are more than 100 players and 33 coaches from the divisional ranks.

More than 12,000 National Football Foundation members and current Hall of Fame members received the ballot on Monday. The class will be selected by the NFF's honors court. Archie is a board member of the NFF.

Oklahoma State receiver Justin Blackmon, Oklahoma linebacker Rocky Calmus, Penn State running back Ki-Jana Carter, Oregon running back LaMichael James, Boston College linebackerluke Kuechly, Oklahoma defensive lineman Dewey Selmon, and Memphis running back DeAngelo are first-timers.

USC running back Reggie Bush, Kentucky quarterback Tim Couch, Florida State running back Warrick Dunn, Syracuse defensive end Dwight Freeney, and Miami linebacker Ray Lewis are some of the holdovers from previous years.

If a player has received first-team All-America honors by an organization recognized by the NCAA, they are eligible to play.

If a coach is at least 70 years old, they can play three full seasons after retirement. A coach needs to have been a head coach for at least 10 years and have coached at least 100 games with a winning percentage of.600 or better.
