Here at Universe Today, we keep a close eye on Ingeniuity. Ingenuity has lived up to expectations so far, with almost 30 flights covering over 7 kilometers and breaking its own record for longest power flight on another planet. It has been difficult to understand what it would be like to fly through the atmosphere of Mars.

The helicopter flew its 25th flight on April 18th. The flight was captured by the helicopter's navigation cam and it was both the furthest and the fastest Ingenuity had traveled. The video is 35 seconds and the actual flight is 161.3 seconds, with the video increasing to 5 times normal speed to make it seem more fluid.

Ingenuity traveled over 700 meters to help Perseverance get to a dried lake bed. The standard height for most of it's flights was 10 meters. At that height, the craft traveled at a fast pace, setting a new speed record for the Red Planet.

The pace of flights has slowed down due to the dust on the helicopter's solar panels. The main computer on the craft was temporarily shut down due to this. While it waited to reestablish the connection, it lost the sync it had previously established with Perseverance. Even with the covered solar panels, the engineering team is still hopeful that the batteries can be charged enough to take a few more flights.

The current resting place of Ingenuity is known as "airfield T." The stunning visuals and first achievements unlocked by the helicopter will remain in the record books indefinitely even if there isn't much hope for one more flight.
