Steve Kerr is the coach of the Golden State Warriors and he has been an advocate for gun control.
At Game 2 of the NBA Finals on Sunday, the coach stepped up his activist game, as massacres in Buffalo, New York, and Uvalde, Texas, have given way to a continuing streak of mass shooting.
Kerr wore an orange "End Gun Violence" T-shirt at the news conference and pushed for "proven laws that are waiting to be passed."
He said before the Warriors beat the Celtics to even the series at one game apiece that there were things they could do that wouldn't violate people's Second Amendment rights.
He said that making people aware of gun violence prevention groups is one way to do that.
Even though the majority of people in this country want gun safety measures put in place, a lot of congressional races are decided by people who aren't so much for gun safety measures.
He told people to get out and vote. That is the only way to get people to believe in us.
According to a recent poll, Americans support background checks on all gun sales. The background check bill was blocked by the Senate.
