Musk said that he couldTerminate the agreement in response to the clear material violation of the deal. In a letter sent to the social network this morning, Musk's legal team claims that he is entitled to receive information about the service's problems under the terms of the deal.

The lawyers wrote that Mr. Musk believes that the company is resisting and obstructing his information rights. According to the letter, Musk could choose not to complete the transaction.

Musk has been complaining about bots since shortly after he signed the deal

It has appeared to be a strange attempt to escape a deal he signed less than a month ago, as Musk has spent weeks complaining about the issue on the social network. The deal was put on hold due to Musk's concerns about bots, and he said that it couldn't move forward until it was proven that it was accurate.

It wasn't until today that Musk made an official threat to back out of the acquisition. The letter indicates that Musk is looking to walk away from the deal, according to a report. A request for comment was not responded to by the company.

Less than 5 percent of users on the micro-messaging service are considered to be spammers. The CEO of the company said last month that they had given Musk an explanation of how they generate their estimates.
