NYC corrections captain at Rikers dies in Dominican Republic after Brazilian butt lift from bogus doc: report

The captain of the NYC Department of Correction died while in the Dominican Republic to get a Brazilian butt lift.

Tandra was going to get a fat transfer surgery in Santo Domingo when she suffered a massive stroke.

Cabral was indicted by the New York Attorney General in March of 2011.

He was accused of charging for consultations and medical exams at med spas and beauty parlors in New York before swindling patients with bargain prices to the Dominican Republic for discount cosmetic surgeries.

According to the Daily News, Cabral cut a deal with prosecutors that didn't include jail time. He was ordered to complete 250 hours of community service in the Dominican Republic after he was fined and ordered to pay a large sum of money.

Her husband said he received a call a day later from a nurse at United Hearts Clinic, where she had been moved about a mile away after the procedure and died before Williams could get to the Caribbean in time to be with her.

The New York City Department of Health warned of eight patients in New York City and two in Connecticut who returned from "lipo-tourism" trips from the Dominican Republic with serious infections. There were no deaths reported in relation to those cases.

Cabral's clinic footed the bill for Williams' travel to the Dominican Republic, as well as other costs related to his wife's death, including paying the local funeral home to have her body embalmed. According to the newspaper, the death of Bowser-Williams does not appear to be being investigated.

Patrick Ferraiuolo, President of the Correction Captains union, said that she was always a good captain and worked with inmates. The loss is a real one. She wasn't deserving of this. She was a law enforcement officer.
