Haney takes down Kambosos to become undisputed lightweight champ (1:40)

In front of thousands of Australian fans, the undisputed boxing lightweight champion was defeated by George Kamboos Jr. It was 13:20.

It's not going to be a repeat.

You don't want one.

The exchange between Apollo Creed and Rocky Balboa, who Creed defeated in the first film of the classic film series, seems to be a good example of that.

There is more to see. Kambosos doesn't possess soul-crushing power or have an off night. Kambosos watched a lot of noncompetitive rounds in his home country. The scorecards portray the fight in a different way. It was 118-110.

It's likely that Haney and Kambosos will return it. Kambosos called the shots, and Haney agreed to get the chance. Kambosos will get another chance to play him later this year in Australia.

Kambosos said that he would do it again. He got the shot. He wouldn't have had his moment right now if I hadn't given him this chance.

He did what he had to do in order to win. It's about that. When we get it on again, I'm sure it will change because you do what you have to do to win. I'm going to be hungrier because of this.

Kambosos is certain of those words. He did exactly what he said he would do against Teofimo Lopez in November to collect four lightweight titles.

Kambosos scored a knockout in the first round to announce his arrival on the world stage.

After 12 rounds of fighting, there won't be much appetite from the public for a second fight. There should be.

It was a tactical fight. Kambosos' power shots were defeated by Haney's excellent jab. The strategy was done perfectly. Haney stuck the jab to the body and head rather than taking any risks.

Rarely did a power punch come from one of the boxers. Haney landed more power shots than Kambosos. There was no drama in the fight, not a single moment when it looked like Kambosos would win.

He does deserve a second fight. Kambosos said that Haney got the opportunity because he gave it to him. Kambosos could have chosen any number of less difficult opponents for his title defense.

He went looking for the toughest challenge available. We are almost certain to see 12 more rounds between Kambosos and Haney.

"I'm not going to duck or dodge anyone," said Haney. I will do it again if the network wants it. It has to be understandable.

The contract supersedes everything, but it doesn't make sense. If he wants to fight someone else, he has to give up the four 135-pound titles he won and move up to 140 pounds.

One more fight with Kambosos is what Haney can look forward to. They will be separated by another win by Haney.

Boxing is a sport where the champion or A-side wields a lot of power. Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua are going to fight for the title again. Joshua was almost stopped by Usyk in the first bout.

Joshua had a clause in his contract that would allow him to go back on it. True champion believe they can get revenge. Kambosos feels that way immediately after the event. He was facing an uphill battle when he challenged Lopez last year.

Maybe cooler heads will prevail and Kambosos will at least agree to allow an interim title bout before he faces Haney again, but it doesn't seem like it will happen.

Kambosos thought the fight was very close. The man moved. He was in the middle of a fight. I give him respect because he didn't want to get into the fight too much. I'm going to make some changes and get him back by the end of the year.

I don't take the easy way out. The best in the business are fought by me. I did not have to fight him. A lot of people didn't want to fight him. I gave him the shot immediately and I'm sure we'll do it again.
