The man suspected of shooting and killing a former Wisconsin judge was on a hit list that included Michigan's governor.
The Governor's office told the news agency that law enforcement notified them of the name, but wouldn't say anything else.
Authorities said that Douglas K. Uhde shot and killed a former judge in New Lisbon, Wisconsin.
Two shots were fired in the early morning. A person escaped from the house and called the police from a nearby residence.
After failing to negotiate with the suspect, law enforcement entered the home. They found the dead person when they entered. Uhde was found dead in the basement of the home. The man was taken to a hospital.
At the scene, a firearm was found. The Department of Justice is looking into the matter.
The individual intended to attack others related to the judicial system, according to the Wisconsin attorney general. According to the Daily Beast, Uhde had been sentenced to prison in the past.
Tony Evers was reported to be one of the targets.
A representative from Ever's office told Insider that they don't comment on security threats.
