Fortnite’s latest live event was a giant mech battle

A huge battle took place today in the most recent live event of the game, which featured a giant Mech as well as some hints for what to expect from the game's next season. You can see what happened if you missed the experience.

Before the event kicked off, players were taken to a space station that looked like a frosted over space station, where they could kill time by using huge guns to clear away an array of asteroids that circled the station while listening to characters like Agent Jones and The Origin. They were told to stop the powerful weapon that could wipe out the island's inhabitants.

It turns out that the space station housed a giant robot that made its way to the island to fight off the invaders. The players took control of turrets to destroy tanks and other military equipment. The early stages of the event were a lot like an arcade game, with some beautiful cutscenes and quick events to do things like heal the Mech or whip out a giant laser sword.

Jones led a group of players through a series of battles centered around the Zero Point, which has been a focal point of the game for years. Doctor Slone became the game's main villain before the Mech saved the day. It is not clear what happened after Jones and The Foundation jumped into the Zero Point.

For now, players will have to wait to find out what's next, as the game is currently down. There are a few things to know. Darth Vader made a brief appearance while fighting Obi-Wan, and the loading screen shows a forest filled with bioluminescent plants. There is some very chill music playing on the loading screen.

The core part of the experience is what happened today. Everything from a battle with Galactus to an alien invasion has been included in the one-time-only live events. The current chapter of the game began when the battle Royale island flipped over.

The third season of the video game is expected to start tomorrow.
