Shawn Levy, the director of Free Guy, signed on to direct the third movie in the series in March of this year. The only thing that has been confirmed is that it will be in the MCU, which has fans ecstatic, but also wary, because Disney has a stranglehold on superhero content.

Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick talked to Den of Geek about how the new home for Wade will not affect the feel of the original two movies. In Wernick's words, "Deadpool's gonna be..." Disney has been more than willing to make sure the franchise stays its core identity. He said that Disney was supportive of what they were doing and only had to step in if they crossed a line. The box office success of those two movies has been a factor in Disney's decision. Hopefully it will be a wedding in heaven. It is a great thing to know that we have their support.

Everyone was surprised by the Disney-Fox merger. Reese admitted that he didn't think an event like that would happen, and that it was an external thing. Since they still have jobs after the merger, they are happy that they have more to offer. Reese said it was an absolute thrill to have the band back together.

The writers of Bob's Burgers took a stab at the film before Reese and Wernick took over the script. The two were cagey when asked if they would use the script previously written by Molyneaux and loeglin. Reese said that they were not supposed to reveal plot details. The two were able to say that whenever the third movie in the series comes out, it will be throwing shade at the movie studio. For some people, that's all they need to be excited.
