According to a long time NBA reporter, Bobby Portis is expected to sign a new multiyear contract with the Milwaukee Brewers.

Portis has been with the team for two years. Portis signed a two-year, $8.9 million contract with Milwaukee in 2021 that has a 2022-23 player option for $4.5 million, which he is expected to decline.

Portis signed a two-year, $7.4 million contract in November of 2020 with a player option for a further two years. Portis decided to go with a new deal.

Portis is a good candidate for a big raise. He played in a career-high 72 games and averaged a career-best 14.6 points and 9.1 rebound.

Portis was an important member of the team as they were hit with injuries to some of their key players. He was a double-double threat on a game-by-game basis.

The fan favorite helped the Bucks reach the second round of the playoffs and push the Eastern Conference champion Boston Celtics to seven games despite the team missing guard Khris Middleton due to a knee injury. Portis played just 24.8 minutes per game but still averaged a double-double.

In the regular season, Portis averaged 11.4 points and 7.1 boards off the bench for the Bucks, who won the 2020-21 title.

Retaining Portis would help the Milwaukee Bucks in their quest for an NBA title with Antetokounmpo leading the way.
