During the soviet era, it was destroyed. It was rebuilt later. It was set on fire by the Russians.
The cells of the Lavra monks were damaged by Russian shells. Four people were killed. Sviatohirsk has been under attack.
Zelenskyy said the occupiers know what object is being hit. There are no military targets on the Sviatohirsk Lavra. There are about 300 people hiding from the fighting. The Lavra is still being bombarded by the Russian army even though they don't care what happens to it.
Russia's membership in UNESCO was appealed to by the Verkhovna Rada ofUkraine. This is being worked on byUkrainian diplomacy. Since World War II, only Russia has destroyed so many monuments.
Russia has no place in UNESCO due to the destruction of churches, schools, and memorial. We can't talk about a barbarian state with a terrorist one. Which shells are better for heritage destruction?
The UN and UNESCO are expected to respond in a logical and fair way. The United Nations does not assume that it will unite with terrorists. Russia must be held accountable for its actions.
