England players
Saturday's game saw more than 30,000 fans in attendance

Despite most of the crowd in Hungary being children, England players were jeered when they took a knee before the game.

In June of last year, Hungary was ordered to play three games behind closed doors because of their fans' behavior.

Over 30,000 people watched the game at the Puskas Arena.

Children up to 14 years old can attend for free if accompanied by an adult.

Channel 4, which is broadcasting the match in the UK, asked Uefa for a statement on the matter but were told by European football's governing body that it wouldn't make any comment.

Hungary has been ordered to play two games behind closed doors by world governing body Fifa because of racist abuse directed at England players.

A flare and other objects were thrown on to the pitch by the home fans of the two players.

'There was no escaping the jeering'

There is a football writer at the arena.

The arena was filled with booing moments before the game started.

England's public gesture opposing racism and discrimination was met with hostility from such a young gallery because the crowd was respectful to both national anthem.

England's players rose quickly from taking the knee but there was no escaping the jeering, which was laced with heavy irony as the whole point of Hungary's punishment was to act as a deterrent to further racist and homophobic behavior by fans.

A game that was supposed to be played without a crowd can end up in this situation.
