There were "horrific" scenes at last weekend's European soccer final and an MP wants a retraction of the "smolders" against the fans.

The game in Paris was disrupted by late arrivals and fake tickets.

Ian was at the match and wants a full apology.

A parliamentary motion is about to be made.

There was a shambolic breakdown of stadium management and extremely hostile police in Paris, according to the man who was at the 1989 tragedy.

He said that it was the worst event he had ever seen around a football match and that it could have been much worse.

It was only the patience of the fans of the other team that prevented that.

Following a week of widespread criticism, Uefa apologized to Real Madrid fans on Friday after police used tear gas and pepper spray on fans outside the stadium.

Fans, including the mayor of the city, were robbed and attacked.

It was a welcome acknowledgement of the horrors that were suffered by both sets of supporters.

He said that they need to demand a full public apology from the people who made false accusations about the fans.

The chaos caused the match to be delayed by 36 minutes, with Uefa initially blaming late arrivals even though footage showed thousands of fans had begun queueing at least two hours before the game.

Police officers working at the match and journalists reporting on the final denied the claim.

More than 30,000 fans had fake tickets or no tickets outside of the stadium, according to France's interior minister.

A friend of Andy Robertson, who had given him a ticket, was denied entry.

Mr Darmanin's claim that only English fans caused problems at the final caused widespread criticism, including from Billy Hogan who described it as "disgrace"

"I asked my government to clarify what happened, to determine the responsibilities and to explain them in detail to our countrymen, the British and the Spanish," he said.

He said the ticket-holders should be paid as soon as possible.

Real Madrid wanted to know who was responsible for leaving the fans abandoned and defenceless.

The review of what happened at the final will be headed by a former Portugese sports minister.

"I'm concerned about anyone being appointed by Uefa without due process and I hope people with huge experience from the inquests will be contacted to assist," Mr. Byrne said.

He said he was going to submit a motion in parliament on Monday to "crank up pressure" on the government.
